Making SCENTS

The article Making SCENTS is about a 24 year old lady named Hannah Follis. She is a research and development chemist at Illume; she is also a candle manufacturer in Bloomington, Minn. She thinks it fun working on products at home and always look forward to see her products in different kinds of stores. She wasn’t like most students that fall asleep in biology class she also like learning about the science of living organisms. She says biology is an interest so she majored in biology and minored in chemistry at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. When she graduates she wants to get some professional experience in a laboratory. To make sure the smells are right she makes samples of fragrance, color, wax, container, overall appearance. She performs testes just to make sure the candle will burn and makes sure the product will last a long time. If the product doesn’t past her tests she has to make some adjustments in the formula by adding chemicals and antioxidants. She dreams of becoming a master perfumer who invents a renowned signature scent. She might possibly change her career to medicine or develop for consumer products. She says if you want to pursue in a career just go for it also the classes are challenging and tough but it is rewarding.
